Firefox is a cross-platform web browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation.

The browser's code is open source and based on the MPL license.

The browser has been in development since 2002 and is derived directly from the Mozilla Application Suite, which was based on the Netscape Navigator code. The aim of the project was to separate the browser from the suite.

The first version of Firefox was released in 2004. Since then, the application has gained popularity and has been continuously improved.

Firefox supports the latest web technologies, tabbed browsing, and has a download manager. The browser also supports add-ons that increase the functionality of the program.

Mozilla Firefox is one of the few browsers left on the market that uses a proprietary engine. The browser is based on the Gecko engine.
